Indian Prime minister is well known for his foreign trips. In his tenure he covered almost all the major countries around the globe. Well, the idea behind the travel was to bring more opportunities and money to his home country, the money that was spent for his travel ain't free.
An RTI application was filed by Comm(Retd) Lokesh Batra, to know how much money spent on prime minister air travel, Air India responded the total cost is Rs.117 crore in 2015-16. Modi visited 22 countries including Russia,France,Germany,UAE,Mongolia,China,Ireland, the U.K., Afghanistan and even Pakistan.
Among PM Modi's trip , the most expensive trip was last year visit to France, Canada and Germany which costed the airlines Rs.31 crore.The PM signed several agreements in Canada and France.
The outcome of the meeting is yet to have impact , the prime minister has already visited Belgium, United States and Saudis Arabia . He is also planning to visit Iran later this month and scheduled to return to US this June.
